Washington Wizards City Edition 2021-22 The brighter colours looks great – even if the Wizards are just another blue and red team. My only complaint is the “gold” trim, specifically that it isn’t gold, it looks more like a muddy orange to be honest, and it spoils the jersey for me. If they wanted gold they would have been better with a brighter tone like on the Raptors jersey – in fact, maybe even swap all the white on this jersey for a bright gold.
Utah Jazz City Edition 2021-22 The Jazz are also recycling last year’s design, which itself is a rehash of their original city jersey (which was better). I think this jersey has played a part into tricking the Jazz into thinking their team colours are black and yellow. They’re not, and shouldn’t be. Next.
Toronto Raptors City Edition 2021-22 It should have been purple. Keep the gold, just make it purple and gold, little bit of red on the raptor. Done. Easy. Other than that, it’s good.
San Antonio Spurs City Edition 2021-22 This is a winner, the fiesta colours! So nice that this is what we got and not something featuring a camo pattern (which I was fearing). Two things I would change though, I’d love to see the fiesta colours on a black jersey, and it would have been good to see something other than the usual Spurs logo on the chest – I’d have gone for the arched “San Antonio” from their 70s/80s jerseys.
Sacramento Kings City Edition 2021-22 Look, “Sactown” is silly, but the wordmark itself looks quite nice, and everything else is fairly clean. I just wish it wasn’t black, the Kings need to work light blue back in there somewhere, and abandon the black.
Portland Trailblazers City Edition 2021-22 These are lovely. I think the only thing I’d change would be to use the Portland wordmark from the waistband instead of the ‘ripcity’ on the chest.
Phoenix Suns City Edition 2021-22 Boring reusing last year’s design instead of taking part in the mixtape scheme. I really dislike teams using made up nicknames on their jerseys – you’re not the Phoenix Valley or the Valley Suns. The design itself still feels like a pixelated knock-off of Utah’s, but fans like it, so…
Philadelphia 76ers City Edition 2021-22 The Sixers tend to do pretty well with their retro looks, and this is no exception. The Spectrum-inspired coloured side panels feel like there is something missing, but that’s a minor complaint.
Orlando Magic City Edition 2021-22 The overall design is good, aside from one major thing. Yeah, we get it Orlando has oranges, but the colour makes no sense for their jerseys. These really do look like someone accidentally inverted the colours in the artwork file before they sent it off to manufacturing – seriously, invert it and the black/orange becomes white/blue and looks a millions times better.
Oklahoma City Thunder City Edition 2021-22 They had a wide open shot and and they air-balled it. Where they could have served up a delightful Sonics-inspired jersey celebrating their origins and won everyone over, they instead give us what looks like a blank template that someone forgot to colour in. Making things worse, the Love’s logo is even more awful when it is the only piece of colour in sight.
New York Knicks City Edition 2021-22 Stop wearing black. Admittedly its better than last season’s atrocity, but seriously your cross-town rival wears black and has a predominantly black brand, what are you doing. The Knicks have a handful of retro looks they could, and should, have leant into instead.
New Orleans Pelicans City Edition 2021-22 Wow, such creativity. You’d be forgiven for thinking this is just one of their regular jerseys. Obviously its a bit difficult to include anything relating to their time as the Hornets given the name, and history reverted back to Charlotte after they re-entered the league. Maybe throw in the Mardi Gras colours?
